GIS Web Applications
In recent years ESRI has been putting special emphasis on sharing of information and data with target audiences. With ArcGIS Online it is possible to create applications for sharing and collecting information. There are many types of application to choose from such as Story Maps, Survey 123, Dashboards, etc'. This page includes a few examples of such applications including but not limited to:
1. Story Map created for the City of Kfar Saba's General Plan: The purpose of this Story Map was to share documents of it's General Plan, at various stages of planning, with residents of Kfar Saba and to gather the public's opinion on the plan. This Story Map contains a variety of interactive maps and 3D models, text and photos, and a survey.
2. Story Map for the Renewal of the City Center of Kfar Saba: The purpose of this Story Map was to share two planning option for the site, with residents of Kfar Saba. Each option is presented as a 3D model making it easier for the general public to understand the plan. This Story Map contains a variety of interactive 3D models, text and photos.
3. Dashboard presenting data from a social survey in Or Yehuda - The purpose of this Dashboard is to illustrate, in one quick view, data from a social survey conducted in Kazaz Street in Or Yehuda. This is a pilot from a collaboration between WALK and People (a consulting firm on public participation). The application includes 3 dashboards showing the most important questions and answers from three main subjects of the survey.
4. Story Map for a Commercial Renewal Project in Beit Shemesh - The purpose of this Story Map was to share the planning documents of this plan with residents of Beit Shemesh as part of a participatory process. This Story Map contains a variety of interactive maps and 3D models, text and photos, as well as video animations of the model showcasing some of it's capabilities.
